Alkagesta has gained access to the Argus Open Markets window for European Biodiesel, HVO and Used Cooking Oil (UCO), marking a further development in the company’s participation in price assessment processes across sustainable fuels markets.
Argus Media, headquartered in London and operating with over 1,500 staff across 32 offices in the world’s principal commodity trading hubs, is an independent provider of price assessments, market intelligence, and data services trusted by companies, trading firms, and governments in 160 countries. Access to the Argus Open Markets window allows participants to submit bids, offers, and transactions that are considered in Argus’s price assessment process — benchmarks widely used by producers, traders, and end users across European biofuels markets.
Participation in the Argus window reflects the scale and commercial activity of the biofuels trading operation built by Alkagesta since the desk’s launch in 2025, which now spans UCO origination, biodiesel and HVO trading, ISCC-certified sustainable aviation fuel, and EU ETS allowances.
Anthony Guida, Biofuels Trading Desk Lead at Alkagesta, commented: “Becoming an active participant in the Argus window for biofuels will allow Alkagesta to boost market liquidity and enhance the accuracy of the Argus price assessments. This will drive transparency in the market and accelerate the overall adoptions of biofuels.”
This development follows Alkagesta’s earlier approval to participate in the Platts Market on Close assessment process for EMEA naphtha physical, further establishing the company’s presence across commodity price assessment processes in both petroleum and sustainable fuels markets.
