Zhoushan, China | 21–23 October 2026
Alkagesta participated in the International Petroleum and Natural Gas Enterprises Conference (IPEC) 2026, held at the Zhoushan International Conference Center in Zhejiang Province. The annual gathering brings together oil, gas and bulk commodity enterprises, port operators, bunker suppliers and trading houses from across Asia, the Middle East and Europe.
Organised under the auspices of the Zhejiang Provincial Government and the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone, IPEC serves as the main promotional platform for the Zhoushan oil and gas industrial chain, combining high-level forums, industry presentations, business matchmaking and project signings.
Alkagesta was represented by Bayram Bayramli, China Business Developer.
The programme centred on the following themes:
- The growing position of Zhoushan as a global marine fuel and bunkering hub, now ranked among the leading bunker ports worldwide
- Developments in conventional marine fuels (HSFO and VLSFO) alongside alternative fuels, including biofuels, LNG, methanol and ammonia
- Expansion of bonded bunkering infrastructure, storage capacity and supply chains within the Zhejiang Free Trade Zone
- Progress in green marine fuel adoption and bunkering innovation across Chinese ports
- Opportunities for international petroleum trading, market engagement and industry cooperation
For Alkagesta, participation reflects the continued development of the China business line and the wider petroleum products and biofuels trading activities of the company. Zhoushan’s expanding bonded fuel supply base and its early moves into biofuel and methanol bunkering align with the growth of the biofuels desk in Geneva and with the chartering function’s exposure to the product tanker market. Direct engagement with Chinese refiners, storage operators and bunker suppliers supports the sourcing of marine fuel cargoes into East Asian ports and the positioning of Alkagesta within one of the fastest-growing bunkering markets globally.
