Alkagesta participated in the Kazakhstan Commodity Forum, an exclusive conference held at the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues in Geneva, organised by the Commodity Trading Club with the support of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the World Trade Organisation and the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Switzerland.

The company was represented by Orkhan Rustamov, Chief Executive Officer at Alkagesta, who took part in discussions alongside senior commodity traders, originators, trade finance and banking professionals, investors, and government representatives and strategic advisors from across the global commodities community.

The forum was designed to showcase Kazakhstan’s strategic position, resource potential, and growing importance in global trade, highlighting the country’s role as a gateway between Asia and Europe at the crossroads of natural resources, infrastructure development, and geopolitics.

Discussions were structured around three key pillars:

  • Trade flows and logistics, exploring Kazakhstan’s role as a strategic corridor linking international markets.
  • Projects and investments, connecting global investors with regional stakeholders and long-term opportunities.
  • Market intelligence and opportunities, assessing supply-demand dynamics, market trends, and strategic positioning across key sectors.

As a global commodity trading company headquartered in Malta and operating across 48 countries, with trading activities spanning petroleum products, fertilizers, biofuels, and steel, Alkagesta continues to expand its engagement with strategically important trading partners and emerging markets. Kazakhstan’s position as a major resource economy and logistics corridor between Asia and Europe represents an area of growing relevance to the company’s trading and investment activities.
