Times of Malta and Biofuels News both covered Alkagesta’s promotion of Anthony Guida to Biofuels Trading Desk Lead. Guida has been central to building and scaling Alkagesta’s biofuels division since its launch last year.
Alkagesta’s ISCC CORSIA-Certified Biofuels Value Chain
Since joining in January 2025, Guida has built a trading operation spanning the full biofuels value chain, connecting niche feedstock and waste-oil producers with established European biodiesel refiners, HVO and SAF producers. A defining step was Alkagesta’s ISCC CORSIA certification in January 2026, enabling it to trade and supply CORSIA-eligible sustainable aviation fuel, alongside a multi-year Malta and Italy offtake contract and storage at Pantank’s Antwerp terminal. Investment in a used cooking oil processing facility has lifted equity barrel volumes from 734 to 1,860 tonnes. Guida called the result “a certified, structured, and scalable biofuels trading platform”.
Jet Fuel and Sustainable Aviation Fuel on NATO’s Pipeline Network
That certification also opened the way into jet fuel: with commercial access to NATO’s Central European Pipeline System, Alkagesta now reaches airports in Germany and Belgium and expects to trade around 100,000 tonnes in 2026. It has since completed its first crude transaction, loading 1.07 million barrels of CPC Blend in Q2 2026 for the Far East, after years of balance-sheet strengthening and growing backing from international financial institutions.
Anthony Guida’s Energy Markets Track Record and Geneva Base
Guida brings a decade in energy markets, including roles at S&P Global Platts, Phillips 66 and PETRONAS, where he moved from crude oil market analysis to strategy and business development across crude, biofuels and carbon markets. He is based in Alkagesta’s Geneva office.
