On 2 October, Alkagesta hosted its Banking Partners Summit in Malta, bringing together representatives from leading financial institutions across Switzerland, the Netherlands, Austria, the United Kingdom, and Malta, alongside our clearing partners and local industry and government stakeholders.

The full-day event was organized at Alkagesta’s Malta headquarters and served as an important platform for dialogue on commodity trading, trade finance, risk management, compliance, and Malta’s growing role as an international trading hub.

The programme included presentations at Alkagesta’s offices, a visit to the Evos Malta terminal, discussions with Evos Malta management, and concluded with a gala dinner that provided further opportunities to strengthen professional relationships and explore future collaboration.

The summit highlighted the critical role played by first-class international financial institutions in supporting Alkagesta’s growth and value creation. The banking facilities and trade finance lines made available by our banking partners, with combined support exceeding USD 1 billion, provide a strong foundation for the continued expansion of Alkagesta’s global trading activities and Malta operations.

These partnerships are built on a shared commitment to transparency, prudent risk management, regulatory compliance, and long-term sustainable growth. In a sector where robust financial infrastructure is essential, the support and confidence of leading international banks reinforce Alkagesta”s ability to execute trading strategies responsibly while maintaining the highest standards of governance and control.

Alkagesta would also like to express its appreciation to our clearing partners for their participation in the summit. Their continued support plays a vital role in our risk management framework, providing essential clearing services, market access, and risk coverage that enable the effective execution and hedging of our trading activities.

The discussions throughout the day further demonstrated Malta’s attractiveness as a location for international commodity trading and trade finance. Supported by a strong regulatory framework, European Union membership, sophisticated financial services infrastructure, and a growing ecosystem of logistics and storage operators, Malta continues to establish itself as a secure and competitive jurisdiction for international business.

With the commitment of Alkagesta, its banking partners, clearing institutions, terminal operators, and local stakeholders to the highest standards of compliance and operational excellence, Malta is well positioned to continue expanding its role as a trusted centre for commodity trading, finance, and international commerce.

The summit reflected a shared ambition among all participants: to build long-term partnerships that support responsible growth, effective risk management, and value creation across the global trading ecosystem.
