Malta, 28 May 2026.

Alkagesta has been featured in Malta Today following the publication of an article covering the company’s participation in the IATA Aviation Energy Forum 2026, hosted by the International Air Transport Association from 12–14 May in Paris.

The article examines the forum’s central themes — including the challenges of scaling sustainable aviation fuel across Europe, supply chain constraints under the EU’s ReFuelEU Aviation regulation, and the growing importance of energy security in aviation fuel logistics. It highlights Alkagesta’s expanded footprint in the aviation fuel space, including supply arrangements linked to NATO’s Central European Pipeline System serving major airports across Germany and Belgium, and the company’s recently obtained ISCC CORSIA certification enabling it to trade and supply CORSIA-eligible sustainable aviation fuel.

Orkhan Rustamov Alkagesta CEO highlighted: “For decades, fuel procurement was primarily a question of price and volume. Today, energy security — the ability to guarantee supply continuity through certified logistics infrastructure, in compliance with evolving regulations — has become equally critical. The SAF transition cannot succeed on policy ambition alone. It requires coordinated investment in storage, blending capacity, pipeline access, and certification systems. Companies that have built depth across these segments are load-bearing parts of the energy transition.”
