Alkagesta participated in Sustainability Day 2026, held in Milan, Italy and organised by EtaCarinae Sustainable Energy Solutions. The annual event brought together key operators, stakeholders, and industry experts from across the biofuels, bioliquids, and sustainable fuels sectors to discuss the latest developments shaping the industry.

Alkagesta was represented by Akif Mammad-Zade, Global Operations Manager, who engaged with industry participants throughout the conference sessions and networking activities held during the event.

The conference agenda focused on regulatory developments, market dynamics, certification standards, and operational challenges across the sustainable fuels sector. Discussions covered key industry topics including biofuels market trends in Italy, RED III implementation for the energy and transport sectors, bioethanol supply chains and certification standards, developments in biogas, biomethane and bio-LNG, as well as Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and the evolving ReFuelEU Aviation framework.

The programme also included networking sessions, expert-led discussions, and relationship-building opportunities with companies operating across the international sustainable fuels value chain. The evening concluded with a networking event attended by representatives from across the biofuels and energy industries.

As Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) continues to play an increasingly important role in the decarbonisation of the aviation sector, Alkagesta remains actively engaged in developments across the market. The company’s one of the recent achievements of ISCC CORSIA certification further supports its participation in international SAF supply chains under recognised sustainability, traceability, and compliance standards.
